It's time for an exciting update as we continue our journey to bring Droplet to life. Thanks to your unwavering support, we are thrilled to share some remarkable advancements in our development progress. Your enthusiasm is the driving force behind our dedication.
We are delighted to share our progress on plastic injection molding – first parts have arrived!
Our journey into the world of plastic injection molding has begun with the production of the first parts for Droplet! For those new to this, imagine injecting molten plastic into precision-engineered steel molds — this complex yet fascinating process shapes the housing of Droplet. You can glimpse these tools in the "Path to Production" section of our campaign.
We have begun the assembly and testing of our prototypes. This early stage is critical for refining the design, ensuring precise fit and finish, and selecting the ideal materials and colors. Every component, from molds to mechanical parts, is thoroughly evaluated during this process
We are optimizing injection parameters and expect to receive the next iteration of parts later this month. Each iteration takes about three weeks, and we anticipate requiring approximately 2 more iterations to achieve the quality necessary for mass production.
Our Operations Team is hard at work ensuring Droplet arrives on time. We're sticking to our August delivery plan and are encouraged by the progress. Recent meetings with early testers, suppliers and our internal R&D team have sparked further improvements, keeping us on track to deliver a top-tier product.
We're excited to share some personal feature updates with you! We've been enhancing the onboarding process, refining our WIFI connectivity, and fine-tuning the accuracy of our algorithms. While our ops team is hard at work producing Droplet, we're also dedicated to continuously improving our software. Our goal is to exceed your expectations, and while there's still plenty to do, we're extremely confident that we'll achieve our objectives.
